Karen Voigth´s Energy Sprint is a cardio training combined with a training to tone and define the body. Although it is already released on video in 1993 it is still up to date and fortunately is now available on DVD.  One of her best workouts.

The menu is very good. You can choose the whole program or there is a mix match feature where you can choose those segments which you want to perform.

The cardio training itself lasts about 40 minutes. In this program there are sprints, it means there are intervals between step moves of lower and higher intensity. A bar at the bottom of the tv screen , a  "Sprint timer" indicates when the sprint starts (phases of higher intensity) and how long it will take. This motivates you not to give up. All sprints except the last one are carried out on a step board.

The step moves are easy to follow.  In between Karen Voight shows possibilities how to modify the moves so that you can increase your level of intensity.

After the cardio section the workout for the upper body takes place. All important muscles groups are trained. It is not so demanding as the cardio section but you can increase your own level by using heavier dumbbells.  The entire 83-minute workout is completed with a 9-minute abs training (mainly crunches) and a 4-minute strech.

This should be the right DVD for the advanced. Especially because of the absolute demanding and challenging cardio section but also the rest is very good.

Although the release date is 1991 and the outfit looks old-fashioned the workout itself, however, is timeless.  It is a very demanding and effective workout.

At the beginning is the standing leg work. Not only the legs are trained but also shoulder, arms etc. by using dumbbells.

Then the 20-minute upper-body training follows. It is an effective muscular endurance workout, in which the upper body is trained with nearly a break at all. Upper body work is combined with leg movements and this let your heart rate go up and you get an aerobic benefit.  Even advanced people should use lighter weights at the beginning so that they can hold out for the full 20 minutes.

Then the 30-minute lower body routine follows. The workout targets at the inner-, outer and front thigh as well as the butt. The effectiveness of these exercises are increased by using a handheld heavy ball or optional a dumbbell. These exercises let the muscles burn.

The workout finishes with a challenging 15-minute ab routine followed by a good stretch.

Karen Voight is an excellent instructor. She gives during the entire workout instructions how to carry out the exercises correctly.

The menu is very good. You can do the entire workout or you can customize your own program individually. The entire 85-minutes will be challenging.

This DVD is rather suitable for the advanced.    Great wortkout

Keli Robert´s DVD is divided into an interval training (stepping and dumbbells) as well as an additional weight training with an ab routine. The cool down of the interval training is at the same time the warm up of the following weight program.

The step sequences are varied and can be understood after a short time. Between every step sequence a weight training with lighter weights takes place. All important muscle groups are being trained and Keli Roberts gives during the whole workout instructions how to carry out the exercises correctly. After 42 minutes you know what your body has done.

Then an effective weight and ab training follows. The weights which are used are heavier than the of the interval program. It is good that the menu allows to customize your own program. This DVD is rather suitable for the advanced.

This fitness workout is carried out by Keli Roberts and two training partners. Her partners show the easier part of the exercises, and one of them train completely without a bosu. So three different level are available.

The 17-minute warm-up includes a cardio training in which you work up a good sweat. You need a certain degree of balance, because of the wobbly bosu. Keli Roberts, herself shows uncertainties slightly by working with it.  Especially people who have knee problems should be careful as you can see in the trailer. The warm up is followed by a total body workout. By the combination of boss and body bar, all muscle groups are trained effectively as well as your endurance and your balance.

The menu allows either to do the complete workout or to customize your program.

A good fitness workout, rather suitable for the advanced.

Keli Robert´s DVD is divided into three different fitness programs. Two are carried out by Keli, the third and shorter one by Sherry Catlin. All three are total body workouts and they are very varied.

Workout I is challenging but a little bit easier than workout II. Keli and two participants carry out the routine so you get three different fitness level after which can be trained. Some exercises are intensified by using a step bench (butt and legs). The menu allows to customize your own workout or to do each on its own.  The different exercise sections of workout I are shorter and a bit differentiated than workout II.

Workout II is carried out without a step bench, nevertheless it is even more demanding. You can also train on three different fitness level. The training sections are longer and several muscle groups are combined in these sections. After every section an additional stretch takes place.

Both workouts are very effective. Keli gives detailed instructions how to perform the exercises correctly and this in a very motivating way.

Workout 3 with Sherry Catlin is not so demanding such as those of Keli but nevertheless it is also effective. You receive a total body workout within 30 minutes. This is helpful if you have not enough time.

In my opinion workout I and II is more suitable for the advanced but Sherry Catlin´s workout could be also used by the intermediates.
